One of my fondest memories from art class growing up was when the teacher brought out the projector and lit up the wall with paintings. The ones that always stood out to me were the chiaroscuros. For anyone who doesn’t know, chiaroscuro is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark—and through the projector’s warm glow, that contrast felt even more intense.

Touched By Light is my attempt to create an image that lasts the way those did for me, back when I was a kid watching them on the wall.
